Welcome to our page all about using your garage as a Home Gym. We have seen a big increase in the number of customers who want to convert their garage into a full or part gym so here are some thoughts, ideas and photos to provide inspiration for your garage.
The benefits of creating your own gym at home means you can save money on monthly gym memberships. Yes you will have to pay out for the gym equipment initially but for the amount of money you would spend per year on membership, we think this more than makes up for it. Plus you have the space in your own home so can save time and money getting to and from your gym.
There is no right or wrong answer to this. It really depends on how big your garage is and whether you have anything else you want to use the space for.
For our customers it really is a 50/50 split between using the whole space as a gym or converting half of it to a gym and using the remaining half for storage. Of course when you have the space to exercise you generally need some supplies too such as weights, bikes and punch bags.
So why not designate an area in your garage that could be used for storing these items and add in some shelves, baskets and cupboards to take them all.
There are a lot of options for your floor but we would recommend PVC Floor Tiles which offer a good non-slip surface for exercising on. As our tiles are used in industrial areas, you can be sure that they are able to withstand the weight of gym equipment (and cars of course) which gives peace of mind. You can even think about creating zones in your garage so that each piece of equipment has its own space on the floor by using blocks of colour. Our tiles come in a range of colours so it is easy to create any design you like.
Having worked on a number of gyms, our installation team are used to liaising with qualified Electricians on this type of project. We can advise and manage the whole process for you so you don’t have to get involved and start finding the right trades person for the job. Adding in suitable lights and heat create the right atmosphere for your training program. No-one wants to exercise in a dull and freezing cold garage!
